As you now know, my book "Kungolo Baa" is now available in French and American versions.
Writing this book has been a real introspection on myself, human nature, community values and performance in a globalized world. Being a leader is first and foremost about inspiring people to become better people and professionals committed to giving their best for a greater cause. In this respect, Kungolo Baa provides answers to all those who are engaged in active life and have the ambition to succeed.
In today's global world, you can observe three dynamics of business and people management:
- Mobility and diversity among individuals and therefore the fundamental need for managers to understand the values of their employees and what motivates them to succeed.
- Cultural clashes between communities and group values create numerous conflicts and operational challenges.
- The impact of the digital world on knowledge acquisition, which often leaves a tiny space for understanding history, culture, values and heroes outside the Western world.
I have experienced all these challenges as an African executive of a multinational company, as an actor, credible witness or perceptive observer of transformations and adaptations on :
- Human capital management and openness to a diversity of values and standards
- Teamwork while understanding and embracing cultural differences
- The pursuit and achievement of commercial and financial objectives according to rules and processes that are sometimes unsuited to our socio-cultural environment.
My professional and social journey has been a navigation between all these differences and challenges. Kungolo Baa is also a personal experiment in how you can combine leadership, performance and success while reconciling:
- Community and individual
- Traditional values and modernity
- Academic knowledge and socio-cultural intelligence
Kungolo Baa offers an African perspective on character, knowledge, courage, teamwork, integrity, our connection to unseen forces and decision-making, as illustrated by our history, heroes and values.
It's also a spotlight on African proverbs and the inspiring stories of our heroes in their struggles and successes in building identity, fighting for freedom or resolving conflict.
Make Kungolo Baa your reference on African eminence. I encourage you to read the book and send me your comments at baba.z@kungolo.com and visit www.kungolo.com.
This book is a Must-Read for any African executive working in the world of Multinationals. The Author's career path is unique and exemplary, given his Roles, Titles, Missions and Results during 40 years with IBM, 35 of which were spent abroad. As a result, his book can only serve as a Manual for success in the business world, based on African wisdom.
Al Sarr FranceThe book was really clear for me to understand; I simply saw myself in it. The author made me understand enriching notions such as the importance of knowing "why to do things" rather than "how to do things". As we say in my circle: "this book has blessed me" and it will bless you just as much!!!!!
Joëlle G. SenegalA must-read, bringing African culture into the culture of a large multinational with gentleness and pugnacity. A discovery.
LO SenegalA skilful demonstration of the successful integration of African wisdom into international capitalism.

Lameez Subaya South AfricaHis work proves that African values can also be applied to the business world. I fell in love with his book 'Kungolo Baa', in which he shows us perfectly how our cultures contribute to the development of leadership qualities.
Senna FranceI'm proud of you for this achievement. I find that your writing is strongly tinged with simplicity, love and a great deal of respect. Your writing style is of the highest quality, another talent you've acquired.
Danielle Halle CanadaParadoxically, the great originality - indeed, the symbolic and philosophical significance - of this autobiographical work lies in the author's self-effacement behind a strong and enduring tribute to his parents, through the expression of a deep and authentic filial piety.
His attachment to his cultural roots, his community and social customs, his anchorage in the civilizational values of his eternal Africa, have been his foundation, his reference points and his home port in a multicultural, polymorphous world, in constant mutation, not to say shaken, disoriented and at a loss for meaning.
